The entrance to the Ice Hotel (for more info, visit www.icehotel.com. Note the handles made of reindeer horns. I am not sure why the doors are covered in reindeer skin. |
| This is the first room we viewed. It is not the best, but I was camera happy. During the day you can go take a look in all the rooms (though most are pretty dull--just a bed). The really weird thing is that none of the rooms have doors, they just have a curtain. I would NOT want to be in a hotel room that didn't have locks on the doors, even if it is a giant igloo. | ![]() |

Not the best pic in the world, but I couldn't resist taking it. Can you see what the sculpture is of? A guy on the toilet. Odd.
|
| Here lies the Egyptian room, one of the coolest in the whole place. Note that the bed is a mattress on some blocks of ice covered with reindeer fur. You can't even begin to imagine how badly the reindeer fur stinks. It is just plain nasty. | ![]() |

We found a cozy little nook hidden behind an ice wall, furnished with ice chairs. The chairs were actually comfortable, but they started melting pretty quickly. You don't want to walk around a giant igloo with a wet butt. |
| had to get a picture of the ice bar. Note all the square blocks of ice? Those are glasses. Odd, eh? | ![]() |

Another bad picture, but it is of a chandeler made entirely of ice. I tought it was pretty impressive. |
| I wanted to take a picture of a filled ice glass b/c I thought they looked cool. I guess you can't really tell how cool it is from the pic. Since we didn't buy a drink I couldn't get a close up. | ![]() |
